INTERN

Job Description: E-Design Intern for Interior Design Firm

Position: E-Design Internship

Location: Hybrid (Remote & In Office Manchester area of Richmond)

About Us:

We are a thriving interior design firm based in Richmond, Virginia, established in 2018 and specializing in creating beautiful, functional and innovative spaces for our residential clients. We're seeking several interns to join our team for an 8-week internship program with a focus on E-design for residential bathrooms.

Internship Program:

Join our dynamic internship program where you'll play a vital role in the exciting launch of our innovative e-design platform within our interior design firm. Get hands-on experience as you learn about bathroom design, fixtures, and materials and contribute to this groundbreaking initiative alongside our experienced team.

Our internship program offers a blend of in-person and remote learning experiences, with a weekly in-person session complemented by virtual meetings with our designers, remote learning modules and practical tasks. While self-directed learning is key, participants should be available during daytime hours a minimum of two days per week for scheduled meetings and calls with our designers. If you prefer remote work, we may be able to accommodate, but please indicate so in your application.

The internship program spans (8) weeks, running from mid-June to mid-August. Should interns have travel plans during the internship, they may complete some weeks remotely, but we ask that they notify us of scheduled travel plans during the application process.

While this opportunity is unpaid, interns will be eligible for commissions and bonuses based on performance. Exceptional interns may also be offered paid roles post-internship as we are actively expanding our team. Interns will have the opportunity to grow their individual portfolios during this term, but selected designs may be published in our Curated Collections program and said designs will receive professional photographs of their work for their portfolios.

We are accepting applications for up to (6) interns for Summer 2024. Join us and unleash your creativity in shaping the future of e-design!

Over the 8 week duration, interns will:

Gain proficiency and practice in designing cohesive bathroom aesthetics, focusing on materials selection and integration of finishes and fixtures within predetermined budgets.

Familiarize themselves with local and national vendors and resources to create cohesive designs within budgets.

Verify specifications and incorporate finishes and fixtures into the Design File Products Library.

Learn drafting layouts, detailed elevations, and mood boards within Design Files for effective communication with clients.

Receive feedback from the Creative Director and refine designs accordingly.

Develop mood boards and compile product lists within Design Files and drafting design rationale for clients.

Conduct a thorough review of final designs and engage in critical feedback sessions, preparing for professional photography and staging.

Remote Work Necessities: Interns should have access to essential remote work tools, including a stable internet connection and their own laptop.
